Rape & Sexual Abuse Support Centre (RASASC)

The Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre (RASASC) support anyone across Surrey aged 13+ who has been raped, sexually abused or had an unwanted sexual experience.

Website content

RASASC wanted to address and dispel some of the common rape myths.

It was also essential to create an understanding of consent. I wrote and designed a webpage: rape myths and understanding consent.

Materials to support survivors of abuse
RASASC wanted some information to support survivors of rape and sexual abuse who may find attending intimate medical procedures difficult and triggering. I wrote and designed a webpage for them: Coping with medical appointments.

I was also tasked with designing a medical healthcare card to help survivors start conversations with medical professionals if they had been abused and found appointments difficult. The card is available both as a download and physical copy.

Pull up banners

I did a complete redesign of RASASCs pull up banners to make them look more modern and fresh.

Leaflet update

RASASC wanted to update and modernise their core leaflets to ensure that information was clear and succinct, and highlighted the vital services they provide. It was also essential to accurately represent the diverse range of people they support.

I carried out an internal review to establish how their four existing leaflets were being used. From this, it was decided to carry three of these leaflets forward. For their two main leaflets that were most widely used, I did a full rewrite and redesign.

A third leaflet contained useful information, but wasn’t being widely circulated as a leaflet, so I created and designed a webpage for this information to make it more accessible.
